Austin Photographer's Family Portrait

Well, I’m bloggin’ now and learning as I go. Anyone who has worked with me knows, I often say, "I’m making it up as I go along.” Creativity just works that way and I guess my Austin photographer blog is no exception.

I know for sure I want to share with you the many faces of Austin as seen by this photographer. I photograph all different types of people, but two of my favorite Austin faces who continually inspire and delight me are my husband and daughter (She’s the mischief-maker in the head scarf, he’s the long suffering sports enthusiast.)

I came upon this image from a couple of years ago while I was archiving some old film jobs. I had a few frames left from a family portrait session I had done the day before. My daughter’s little friend had spent the night and our breakfast table turned into a hairstyling salon before my eyes. Even as a professional photographer, I often miss moments like this when they happen in my own family, but this time I kept my wits and ran for my camera. They were so intent upon their task, no one cared that I was there. It’s a memory that’s precious to me and lets you see who’s behind every photograph I create! I thought it was the perfect place to start.
